Passport expiring in 2 months any issues with stamping??

HI Gurus I have a questions. My passport is about to expire in 2 months will this cause any issues with pasport stamping?? And also what is the process to renew passport??? Thanksin advance
 
Yes, If it is expiring in 2 months then I think they stamp or stick something to your I-94 card. Still not sure. but you will have to renew your passport immediately if you have not received approval so far..

if you have approval then go for stamping and after renew you can again go for stamping. when you go first time, clarify this with the USCIS office.

If you hold Indian Passport,
Go to near by Embasy, with filled application form, and address proff document ( Driver licence, Lease papers, utility billis), degree cerificates, 4 photos, money order.

This is for Washington DC embasy web site. You can search for other embasy web sites in net or in above link.

If you go personally there, some embasy will give you passport on same evening or next day.

If you post them, they will take 7 to 10 working days.
I recently posted my passport to DC, I got it in a week.

I dont think others can submit your passport. But I am not sure.

You can call the Phone number listed on Embassy site and find out.
 
Sorry for asking so many questions in bits and pieces but with new passport will it cause any issues with stamping because of different passport number than one submitted with the application?
 
Sky_Drow I have one more questions. Do we need to submit our degree certificates in original or copies are enough

I was in similar situation, I went to Newyork and got my passport renewed. I dropped it in the morning and picked it up at 4:30. When I went to Newark for passport stamping, they saw both the passports and stamped on the new one, hope this answers your question.
 
siyaram, Thank you very much for your response. That helps a Lot. I will try to goto DC on monday and let you guys know.
 
dyn, Indian consulate in NY will give you new passport by 4pm the same day if you submit your application before 11am. otherwise 4pm on the next business day. Hope they follow the same procedure in Washington DC also.

I got stamping in my new passport (Passport renewed in April 2004 and I-551 stamped in July 2004) without any problem. I took both the passports for stamping but the officer said the new passport is all what she needs and I think she wrote down the passport number on I-551 application.
