Passport expires ? urgent

Does anyone know for passport stamping for 485 approval does the passport expiration is a concern. My passport expires Nov\' 2001. I am planning to get my stamping next week or so.

Appreciate your suggestions. I should say thanks to this forum which has helped in discussing issues while undergoing through this ordeal.

My understanding is that you require a 6 month or more validity for GC stamping on the passport.

Is it a requirement to have 6 months + at the time of stamping or is it you need a 6 mnths + if you are leaving the country.

I have an interview on 19th. My passport was also expiring in
Nov 2001. I could not get a satisfactory reply from this forum.
So, I got a new passport from the Indian Embassy. In person,
getting a new passport takes only 2 days.

Minimum validaity is 6 months. Hence, it is better to get it renewed. Note that any (f) = Final in your passport. If (f) is there, you need to get new passport. If you apply for renewal, you will get back a letter to apply for new passport. You can avoid the delay if you aware this problem. Good luck.
