My passport will be expired in less than 6 months, and I need to extend it. Do I have to send a copy of the extended passport to NSC? Will NSC approve my I485 even if the passport has less than 6 months on it? Thanks for your input.
 
BCIS should approve I-485

even if your passport has less than six months on it. And I don't think you need to send copies of your new passport to them. However, when you go for your stamping, I think it would be a good idea to have a passport with extended validity.
 
Same is the case with me

My passport got expired after 3 months of filing of I485. There is a chance of getting RFE on copies of new passport.
 
Same here. My passport expired in 3 months of filing for I485. My lawyer said to wait, nothing to be done yet. I guess they might RFE for it.
