Hi All,
This is something I wanted to share. I got my naturalization on Sep 25. 2007. The same day I found that I have to travel outside the USA within two weeks for work related stuff.
Well..I live in Utah, and the passport agency designated for Utah is in San Francisco. I contacted nearest passport acceptance center, and enquired on if something could be done without having to go to San Francisco Passport Agency.
I was suggested by the passport acceptance center to contact the passport brokers (a private agency). When contacted them, they assured that they could get me the expedited passport within a week or so. I paid about 50 dollars more than the "regular expedited" passport through the post office.
The broker services completed all the forms, arranged for the flight itinerary, and gave me an envelope which I took to county passport office. After reviewing the docs, they enclosed my original naturalization certificate, and sealed the envelope, and asked me to deliver it back to the broker which I did.
According to the broker, I will get my passport within a week.
I never knew about this passport broker stuff before; thought I should share.
This broker service is good for people like me, who live in cities whose passport agencies are located in other states (for example in my case i live in salt lake utah and passport agency is in San Francisco).
I wonder if these kind of services are available in other states too...just curious...
Thanks
