Part time H1?

Hi,

I work at a university. Now they have budget cut. My position is becoming a part-time position instead of a full time one. I need to apply for a part-time H1 for this position. I wonder, if my part-time H1 is rejected, do I have time to switch to F2? (my husband is F1).
