Part 10 B - Affiliations

Hi,

In N-400, Part 10/B, there are questions about memberships/affiliations w/ clubs, societies, organizations, etc.

I assume the purpose of this is to find out about affiliations with some potentially illegal organizations but that is not mentioned in the questions. They're very generic. So am I supposed to list organizations like National Association of Photoshop Professionals, AAA, LA Fitness, etc?

I know this sounds ridiculous but I need to be 100% truthful and the questions are vague. Just wanted to see how others handled these questions. Thanks for your help.

When i was filing out those Forms , i raised that question to my attorney and he said and i quote. No need to list "AAA, YMCA Membership etc"

So, i put down NO as the answer. Hope this helps!

I listed my membership to the Parent / Teacher Organization for my local school system .

I also assumed that any associations listed in the original I-485 should also be listed there, for consistency. This included associations I was a member of while in college on F-1, just in case (i.e. Student member of Association for Computing Machinery)

The lawyer is right, tho. Don't list Costco.

Since there was space, I mentioned my membership of BMWOC and NASIOC just to be on the same side.
