Parent's or sponsoring child's Birth Certificate?

Hi ,

I plan to sponsor my parents for GC in the near future. When I checked on the USCIS website, it says the documents needed are 1) sponsoring child's birth certificate with both parents' names 2)parents marriage certificate 3) form I-130 4)sponsoring child's proof of citizenship.
My main question is....do I need to provide my parents' birth certificates too? As many people here have posted, my parents do not have birth certificates and back when they were born,in India, nobody was required to register births.What other document can be provided instead of birth certificates ,if at all needed?

They will need their B/Cs later to apply for Immigrant Visas at the Consulate (or for adjustment of status if inside the U.S.).

In India ,They are giving -Non Availability of Birth Certificate- Go to the municipal office , and pay a nominal fee. they will issue you the non Availability Certificate. Along with that, submitt 2 affidavits from your parents brothers / sisiters of any one older to them , For marriage , Just get 2 affidavits from older persons than your parents. You should be all set
