Parents in the US

Hello,

Under what circumstances can an Immigrant's parents come to the US and live with the immigrant? I know that an immigrant is not eligible to sponsor his/her parents for a permanent residency but is there any other way for them to arrive and stay here for longer periods?

Thanks

Even if the parents have 10-year multiple entry visas, the length of stay is governed by the I-94 stamp they receive at Port of Entry. You can request for extension of stay for non-immigrant visa, but just don't really count on it.
A non-immigrant visa is intended for a temporary visit, not 'live' in the country.

A B visa holder may enter for up to six months, depending on the I-94 at the Port of Entry. The stay may be extended by up to six months by filing an I-539, but there is a maximum stay of 12 months in B status. After that, I wouldn't suggest returning for a while.
