Parents GC questions

I sponsored my parents for GC and do have following questions:

1. Can they stay outside of USA for 6-12 months. If they can, does it impacts their citizenship and entry to USA.
2. Can I claim as a dependent on my tax return? Since they both do not work and has no income earned yet.
3. Can they file a tax return to claim Earned Income Credit.

It'll almost certainly break continuous residency for naturalization purposes, it will prevent their re-entry if they are inadmissible on health/public charge grounds, and might be considered abandonment of residency.

3. Can they file a tax return to claim Earned Income Credit.

No. As you say, they have no earned income.
