Parents' birth certificcate

Hi, my friends,

I noticed that a lot of people used the affidavit from two relatives who are at least 10 years older than the parents.

I originally came from China and used the offical affidavit from the goverment Public Notary Office. The only difference from the other approach is that it is certificated by Public Notary Office instead of two older relatives.

I used the same format before for my own green card application and had no problem. I just wonder

(1) What format do you recommend to use?
(2) Any problem with the format I used? Am I going to get a RFE?

Can any applicants originally from China share your experience?

As per USCIS rules, you need to get two affidavtis from relatives if you do not have a birth certificate. You were lucky to get away without the required affidavtis and cant expect the same to happen again. You can search this forum for the format. Someone had posted it earlier
(2) Any problem with the format I used? Am I going to get a RFE?
Getting an RFE depends on the officer who is looking at your case. Some officers take it easy while some stick to the book of rules. Its advisable to follow USCIS rules if you want smooth processing.
