We are in the US on a travel Visa. I have been offered a job and the company's attorney is applying for a working visa which I should have ed of Jan 2006. In the mean time wife is pregnant and it seems like we will have the baby in the US. If so I realize that the babie is automatically a s US citizen, however where does it leave us. Would the process change and will they deport us if we do not suceed with the work visa having a US citizen child...

Please help. Not sure I'm on the right forum

Being the parent of a US born child has no immediate benefits from an immigration perspective. The Child can apply for Green Card immigrant petition for parents only after reaching the age of 21 and then too has to prove that he or she has enough resources to support his or her parents.

As far as applying for your work permit, it has no bearing that the kid is a US born citizen. This should not affect your work permit eligibility.
