Parent leaving USA without payroll while AOS application is in process

My father's I-130/I-485 application is still in process but he decided to leave USA without any sort of payroll. He does not want to pursue the greencard anymore and does not want to come back to USA ever. Can anyone guide what I as the petitioner need to do to inform USCIS about this.

Will appreciate if someone can provide more guidance on this.

Thanks

What does "payroll" have to do with it? Family-based green cards don't require the beneficiary to work. Do you mean he left the USA without any receipt for the I-130 or I-485?

He should write a (signed) letter to USCIS requesting the withdrawal of the I-485, along with a copy of the I-485 receipt notice. It should be sent to the same place the I-485 was sent.

You may also do the same and withdraw the I-130, however I would suggest leaving the I-130 alone in case he changes his mind in a year or two. If the I-130 is kept alive, he'll be able to pursue the process through a US consulate in his country (if he wants to in the future) without you having to pay another I-130 fee.
