Parent - Consular Processing

Hello,

I'm USC living in US and filed I-130 petition on behalf of my parents (living overseas) on 2008/10/20 for Consular Processing that got approved on 2009/03/19.

Now, I don't know much what to expect next. I have read on the forums and gathered a bit of information but still fuzzy on some details.

My understanding of the next step:

1) NVC will assign the case#:

2) NVC will mail DS-3032 (Agent of Choice and Address):
- who will receive the package - beneficiary or me?
- can I be agent -- will that help speed up the process since I'm living in US?
- which address should I give in Ds-3032 and what would that exactly mean.. will all future communication for the immigrant will come to my address then. Is there any benefit to giving my address?
- can I email DS-3032 to NVC to expedite the process?

3) NVC will mail I-864 bill to petitioner - correct?
4) I will pay I-864 bill - can I pay it online to expedite?
5) NVC will send I-864 to petitioner
6) Do I mail I-1864 to NVC or my parent bring that along with them during interview?

7) what documents exactly should my parents prepare. They don't have birth certificate. Do we need one?

What should I expect next?

How long should I expect the wait to be before my parents get visa. I will appreciate any responses to my queries.

Thanks in advance,
-xplorer.

It doesn't tell me though who receives DS-3032 me (petitioner) or my parents (beneficiary) living overseas.

If parents receive. Do they have to mail me the application or I can do online or email processing of DS-3032?

xplorer, I just filed I-130 and my case is similar to yours: parents are overseas and they have to go to Consular processing. I did some search on what will happen next.

The DS3032 should be sent to your parents and they choose who will be their agent. The best agent is you, the petitioner in US. I don't think you can email DS3032 because the form needs original signature.

There is a fee for I-864 and I think the bill and form should come to you together and maybe there is instruction in the form to let you know how to pay bill online.

They do need birth certificate, police report, marriage certificate etc. If anything missing, there will be instructions on how to collect alternative documents.

If you keep reading the thead..it has every details you need to know.
Both the petitioner and the applicant will receive a copy of the DS-3032 form. Usually the petitioner in the US will receive it faster than the applicant. If the applicant does not received one or the letter got lost in the mail. You can scan and email the applicat the copy. The applicant then fill it out and designate an agent (most perferred agent is the petitioner or lawyer if you have one) and send it back to NVC.

I do believe NVC will accept emailing the DS-3032. Check that thread for the email address or contact NVC directly for the email address.

For email DS3032, do you mean scan an e-copy of the DS3032 with applicant's signature and send it to NVC as an attachment?
