Paper work needed for H1 application

Hi,

I am currently on F1 status. I will be applying for my OPT card this month, and start my OPT by May. I would like to know when is the latest date by which my H1 papers should be filed by my sponsor.

Also can you tell me what all papers (original, xerox, attested copies etc.) are needed for my application.

your employer will be able to file your H1 papers on April 1.

If approved, you will be able to start working on Oct 1.

As for the papers, the employer's lawyer will explain everything to you, and you may also want to visit H1 forum, as opposed to F-1.
