Is this I-130 petition for your wife or parents? Is the beneficiary already in the US or will s/he go through CP? Thanks!

It doesn't matter spouse or parents (same timeline). No beneficiary is not in US.

Have you taken my paranoia bud? What does the above sentence mean?

[Should have been, "No. The bene...." :D :D :D ]

Yes, I meant to say:
No, beneficiary is not in US.

What's does that have to do with paranoia? I don't get your sense of humor(?). On the other hand, I am happy that you have enrolled in English 101 at your local college :D

PD - that's a beautiful timeline - one month - wow!

Congrats!

So now, the case gets sent to the NVC? Which consulate is your beneficiary dealing with?

General question to all: What is the current timeline (I know someone posted this a while ago) for the beneficiary/applicant to receive follow-up packet? And then how long to get called for interview once the packet is submitted - any recent Indian consulate experiences?

Rahul what is your receipt date?

Happy Belated Turkey Day everyone!

Yes. My wife will be dealing with Chennai. It will take approximately 3 more months before the case gets sent to Chennai and then what ever time they take in scheduling an interview.

The BCIS website says that I-130s processed at the National Benefits Center take THREE YEARS for processing. How did you get yours approved in one month? Where was it processed and what route did you go through? I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Here is what I know:

If beneficiary is in the US, I-130 is filed jointly with I-485 and both are processed at the local district office. Right now, processing time in San Antonio (my district) is about 4 months.

But,

If the beneficiary is outside the US, the I-130 gets sent to the National benefits center, where they are currently processing applications received in November 2001!. On the top of that, you have to add consular processing time. So, how can we get an I-130 approved so FAST?

Thanks!

For spouses of US citizens (living outside of US), you file I 130 with your service center. Vermont and California approve these in about 30 days. I am not sure what kind of I 130 NBC processes.

Thanks dude...keep us posted, i.e., the date you receive the packet, interview date for your wife in Chennai, etc...

Good luck!

Hey philly dude where did you apply for your passport? When did you take the appointment for the submitting the expedited processing, what I mean is you got naturalized on the 21st and applied for the passport the same day, but when did you ask for the appointment for submitting the passport application.

Did you apply for the passport directly or through some agent for expedited processing? I intend to apply for expedited processing with overnight delivery but was not sure whether I could do that at my local post office or would have to go the philadelphia passport office and do it. Also agents promise 24 delivery for a new passport but charge an additional $150, is this worth it?

You dont need an appointment. I applied at my post office need to pay an extra $ 60 for expedited service (plus fee for express mail - if you opt). You have to take an appointment with thwePhiladelphia passport office only if its an emergency and require the passport the same day (you will have to provide proof of emergency).

How soon do you need your passport?
