Paasport renewal question

Hello Friends:

PLease advise me. My passport is expiring in 7 months and am waiting for 485 approval. Can I go ahead and renew my passport now and get my passport stamped in my new passport ? any issues on this. Please share your experiences.

I read in one of the postings here that some local INS office gave trouble when someone had a passort which is going to expire within a month or so and did the stamping on the I-94 card or something like that.
 
If the embassy of your country allow you to renew your passport right now. Sure, go for it.

I had mine issued six months before expiry while waiting. Hope the wait doesn\'t spill onto another new passport! But you never know NSC!
