Overstayed visa, will GC remove the ban?

My wife overstayed her J-1 visa about 10 months (no 2 year requirement) and we are about to begin our AOS filing. She wants to visit home as soon as possible to be back before school starts. Once/If we are approved for the conditional greencard will that drop the 3-10 year bar from re-entry? AKA: give her full travel and re-entry permission given that she overstayed her visa.

She should NOT leave the US until she has the GC in hand, conditional or unconditional. She should NOT apply for Advance Parole.

Yeah we arn't applying for AP, there is no point. But once she has the condition greencard she should be allowed to travel freely correct?
