Overstay Visitor Visa by 1 Day

There has been some misunderstanding and my MIL overstayed her I-94 by 1 day.

I read up on the potential of not getting an entry the next time she travels to US. Anything she can do while in India to correct this? Will there be any leniency if she stays out of US for a set amount of time now?

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

There is a possibility of being denied entry. There is also a possibility of the overstay being a non-issue.
