Sure, but there should be a stamp when you enter the other country.

And even if not, anything that places you in another country after your time in the US and more than 10 years ago is sufficient for proving that you are not inadmissible now.
 
Hmmm no, the 'other country' was my country, and there never has been any stamp when I come back home...
I checked my most recent passport as I recently went to the Bahamas and Japan, and there is no French stamp at all in my passport (only stamps from the countries I visited and those I had layovers in)
