Hi
I got married to my wife 2 months ago. I am a US citizen and my wife had a J-1 visa. We talked to our attorney and attorney told us to fill forms . I would like to also check with you guys just to make sure , we are sending all the necessary documents and forms.
According to our attorney :
1) I-130
2) I-485
3) G-325A for both of us
4) I-765
5) I-693
6) I-864
7) W2 and tax return for 2008
8) Letter from my current employer
9) Copy of marriage certificate
10) Copy of my naturalization certificate ( I got my citizenship based on 5 year GC )
11) Copy of my wife's translated Birth Certificate
12) Copy of my wife's I-94
13) Photocopy of my wife's J-1 visa
14) 6 Passport pictures for my wife , 2 passport pictures for my self
15) Total of $1345 for fees ( $355 for I-130 and $1010 for I-485)
So those are the documents our lawyer told us to fill out and prepare. I prepared all of them. I just wonder if I need to send anything else ?
Also , 3 additional questions , if you do not mind to answer
1) For I-864 , it mentiones about $70 fee somewhere on USCIS website but the attorney never told us. Is there a charge for this form too ?
2) In 2008 , I had a full time job for around 6 and a half month. My income shows around $20.000. But as of 2009 , I have my full time job and receiving decent income from my employer. Do you guys think since I am sending copy of tax transcript and w2's for 2008 , I can not sponsor my wife ?
3) Should we put both our first and last names on passport pictures?
Thanks a lot , if you guys spend time and answer our questions.
