OT: What is my status

I was sitting by, slowly sipping my beer, and enjoyed myself as I watched sfmars, unitednations and others slug it out in the free-for-all going on in the next thread.

As I downed my beer in satisfaction and put my mug down with hard bang, my befuddled brain came up with a question: what is my status?

So I'm asking you, my friends, what is my status?

I'm currently on H1B and AOS. I haven't applied for an EAD. I'm a beneficiary on the AOS as the I-485 was applied thru my wife.

So is my status that of an H1B holder? (I should think so). My visa has expired so I got an AP approved.

Can I use this to safely travel on my H1B?

Any caveats for me?

Yes. However you may want to consider entering USA on H1 visa.

Any caveats for me?
Maintain H1 status, if possible, while I-485 is pending.
