OT: need help, computer gurus

I just got my new computer. It only has one hard drive. I want to create a logical drive. Windows XP has a command called diskpart, has anyone used it? Is it safe to use? Will create a partition delete my current filed on the disk?

Please help me.

Creating partitions should not delete your files. Did you try Partition Magic ? never used the diskpart though.
