Original masters degree reqd@ visa stamping?

Hello,
is it absolutely necessary to have your orig masters degree certificate at your visa stamping interview? I left it in the US and am going to Delhi for my appointment. I have a photocopy but not the original. Is this okay?

Please answer ASAP as I'm leaving early tomorrow morning (IST). Thanks!
 
If you have time, it would be better to get it couriered.

If not (myself in your place would) take a chance.
