Options ? Renew AP or change to CP

Hi All,

Here is my situation. Please let me know your valuable suggestions.

My case is EB3 -Priorty date is Jan 2003 - India
It is not current.

My EAD(3rd) and AP is valid till Oct 2007.

I need to go to india for an year or more for some unavoidable reason.

Is it better to change to Councelar Processing ? If I do that, can I come back to US after Oct 2007 if needed ?

Or is it better to come back to US in Sep 2007, Apply for AP and then go back again.

--------------- if you have H1 visa stamp you can be back. AP is based on pending I-485 not for Councelar Processing
Or is it better to come back to US in Sep 2007, Apply for AP and then go back again.
--------------- new rule of AP is that apply AP120 days advance of AP expiry . once you are in US file AP and AP need to be approved while you are in US
