I want to thank for anyone who would like to suggest any workaround.
My wife and I are greencard holders living in US. We are planning to adopt a boy in Taiwan. I understand a few prerequisites from the notices from the link below: http://travel.state.gov/family/adoption/notices/notices_473.html
There is a 2-year co-residence requirement that needs to take place before I can file the adoption application. We won't be able to travel abroad to do that given our current status. We thought of applying for a F1 visa for that boy to come and live with us in order to fulfil the 2-year requirements.
I am interested to check with the rest of you to see if this is feasible or if there are other options for greencard holders who are interested to adopt internationally.
Thanks.
