Amazing! I was out at a park when I received the confirmation e-mails on phone at 9:00 pm on Friday. Surely people at USCIS work overtime sometimes!

My I-140 and I-485 were both approved today. My second EAD got approved yesterday which makes this even more surprising.

Well, I am going to miss checking case status every now and then. This forum has been a great moral support through this process. Incidently, the entire green card process (so far) took only 1 year and 2 months since mine was a labor substitution case.

I know that there are many in this forum who have really toiled for long long time waiting for their green card. I wish them all the very best and really hope things move fast - as fast as the USCIS published dates at least.

Congratulations on your approvals.....N'joy your weekend.

Were there any RFE's in your path?? and when was your FP done??

optimistique - Congrats

Congrats all around and that too, you got it quicker than most of us could ever think of. It's amazing how the system works.

Btw, when was your 2nd EAD filed? Can you please give me the dates? Also, your 140 and 485 dates, please? Congrats again on your future endeavors.

1. There were no RFEs. Mine was a labor substitution case.
2. I-140 Filed on July 23, 2003 (which is the date where EB2 I-140 is stuck for ever)
3. I-485s files (me and wife) on August 20, 2003
4. FP Done sometimes in April 2004
5. Recently changed address
6. Filed EAD and AP renewal on August 20, 2004
7. I-140 LUD got updated on July 9, 2004. No change in status.
8. EAD got approved on Sept. 16th.
9. I40 and 485 got approved on Sept. 17th.
10. On the way, the LUD was changing for I485, I131 and I765 every other day since Sept. 10th.
11. My company was preparing to file a 7th year H1 extension.
12. I sent USCIS a fax saying that my I-140 date was right on their published JIT and that if they adjudicate it, they will save on having to adjudicate 2 EADs, 2 APs, H1 and H4 extensions. I don't know if that worked or since I140 was on JIT, it was due for adjudication anyway.

Congratulations on your approval.

Next steps

1. Get your passport stamped.
Make 2 infopass appointments( 1 for ur wife & the other for u) at http://infopass.uscis.gov/ right away. One appointment may do but some offices raise a hell. So why take a chance. Do not wait for the approval letter to arrive by snail mail. If you don't get the courtesy approval letters by mail on time, you can either take the original approval letters that are sent to the lawyer(they arrive early) or cancel the appointment.

2. After stamping
a.inform your employer the stamp in ur passport so that ur employer can update form I-9
b.Go to local SSN office with ur SSN card and show your stamped passport to remove the employment condition(s) in ur SSN card.
c.Wait for plastic card to arrive

Optimistique, which fax number did you do for your case? Do you thunk it's OK to send them fax although my RD has not passed the published processing date?

I don't have the number right now, but it is the same fax template that has been published on this site. It is the standard CSC inquiry template.

My RD was 7/23/03 - same as the EB2 JIT date where things have stalled for last 4-5 months. For this reason, my lawyer would not send the fax. So I sent a polite fax stating that if they adjudicate my application, they will save processing 6 more applications (2 EAD, 2 AP and H1/H4 extensions). I also noted in the fax that per rules they are not obliged to respond and are free to ignore it.

I don't know if this work or my application was due for adjudication anyway. Another factor could have been my recent change of address. I have read on other posts that there may be some corelation there too.
