Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me. I’m Canadian and completed my degree in bachelor of science biology in Texas. I am currently on OPT and have a medical technologist job. My OPT expires February 2020. My employer offered to write me a letter so I can switch my status to TN at the border when I go home for Christmas. Per the TN job requirement of a med tech I would need 1. Bachelor degree OR 2. diploma/certification + 3 years experience. The only problem I have is that I need a visascreen. The visascreen requires proof of a certified program + clinical hours. However Texas is a state that does not need medical techs to have a license in order to work. As far as I know only 11 states requires a license. How do I go about this? As I do not want to do a 2 year program just to get a medical tech license.
