I am currently on my OPT and my H1 has been applied for. My OPT expires on july24 but my H1 is nowhere near the current date. My employer is filing for premium processing to get it before the expiration date. My question is do I need to travel as soon as I get my H1 approval to get my visa stamped. I had traveled outside the US after my H1 had been applied for and I entered back on my I-20. I have heard conflicting statements - some which say that I need to get my visa stamped before my OPT expires as my travel outside nullified the automatic conversion benefit from F1 to H1.
