OPT to H1

Hi Rajiv,

I have been reading all these forms and have a small doubt regarding my condition. My OPT expires on July 23th. Considering the 60 day grace period I can be legally in status till Sep 21st. Assuming my H1 will be approved with the start date of OCT 1st, Can I legally stay in U.S for the interim period of 9 days ( SEP 21st to OCT 1st). I got this doubt as it said in one of the messages that H1 with start of OCT 1st can enter U.S from SEP 20th.

Rajiv, Can you please let me know so that I can live in peace with worrying abt my status?

Unless CIS decides to issue you adjustment of status (which they probably will not), you cannot legally stay for those nine days.
