Change of Opt to H-1

Hi,
My OPT is expiring in May 31st and new H-1 Cap won't release till Oct 2005. The company I am working is willing to apply for my H-1 and will be sending all documents by 1st week of April. Question: Can I still work during my change of status period from June till October? Please suggest. I am in a dilemma...
