OPT - Re-entry to US -

I am currently a full-time worker on OPT. My OPT expires this coming May. I would like to go back to my country for vacation during X'mas break. Lots of people says leaving the US on OPT status is risky. Is that really true? I think if I am not employed, that is true. But I have a full-time job. Should I be able to re-enter without risk? Please let me know. Thank you.

there have been numerous posts about it on this forum. Yes, it's risky, opt is a privilage, not your right. Your program of study is finished, and you are done.

See my earlier post on this at:

I have done some reasonable digging into this and in my opinion, the risk, if any, is very small to negligible if you have a job offer.

Good luck,
