I am a US citizen, my fiance is here in America on OPT we want to get married next year.
My question is do we need to do a court marriage in order for us to apply for here I130 and I485 or we can apply for these two forms now and we can get married after. I know it takes up to 6 months for these process to take place by that time we will have a wedding date and everything setup. I was always under the impression you had to apply for a marriage license/court marriage so you can apply for the I130 or I485. Or the it can be done the other way around?
