OPT - H1 B- H1B Transfer

I am currently on OPT working for company A. Before joining Company A, Company B (Consulting Company) filed H1 B for me which was approved today (March 09, 2007). Company A wants to transfer the H1 and Company B is willing to do that. In the meanwhile, I will be working as a contractor through Company B for Company A.

Now Company A directly manages my Payroll and once I begin working as a contractor, Company B should manage my payroll.

Since my H1 B is already approved, how much time do I have to change to Company B's payroll to avoid any legal problems?

In the meanwhile, I will be working as a contractor through Company B for Company A.

Now Company A directly manages my Payroll and once I begin working as a contractor, Company B should manage my payroll.

Since my H1 B is already approved, how much time do I have to change to Company B's payroll to avoid any legal problems? You can work for A until your OPT cease to expires.
