OPT card that was sent back!

Hello,

I applied for OPT in mid Feb, and I used my friend's mailing address because I am currently out of the country. The card probably arrived at my friend's dorm mind March. However, because the names did not match, the card was sent back on the 7th of April to the USCIS office.

I contacted my school advisor, and she requested a changed in mailing address so that the card will be sent to the correct address this time.
Does this change get reflected onto the system right away?
I am a bit worried because the immigration office people told me after 30days upon issuance/or return (not sure which one exactly) of the OPT card, if nobody pics up the card, it will get shredded, meaning I have to reapply again!

Will my card get sent in time? Is there anything else I can do?
Also, the USCIS operator told me that it will take up to 60-90days to reflect the address change and get the card sent back to me. But, by asking the school advisor to contact the USCIS office, can I expedite my OPT address update/delivery process so that I can start work mid June?

Thanks!
