OPT application to HIB1 application

Hi all,

I was offered a job, which would start on Aug 29 2005, at the early of JUNE 2005.
So, I applied OPT to the Nebraska center on June 15 2005, expecting that the OPT approval would be before the starting day.

But, I am worried that i will not get the approval before the starting day becasue it takes around 90 days to process an OPT application. Even though i requested to expedite the process, i have not heard anything from the CIS.

Regarding the concern, the company has willingness to apply H1-B now (takes 2 weeks for the expediting process) to ensure that i can obtain a working status before the starting day.

I have a question regarding what i should do to stop the OPT process and start H1-B process.
Do i need to tell the International office that i will apply H1-B1?
Or, Do I need to contact the Nebraska USCIS before applying the H1-B1?

Please provide me with any comment regarding the matter.

when your H1B is applied for and approved, you can notify your International center about it. Before that - you don't have to. What if it falls through - like the quota is over... Then you can fall back on OPT.
