Opening Company

Hi Guys,

My I-485 is pending since June 2002 and am working on work permit currently. Wife's I-485 was also filed and she has a work permit.

I need to open a company to pursue some independent contracts. I will keep my current job, the current employer filed for the green card. This will be a part time activity.

Do you see any issues with this. I am in Arizona. I will appreciate any help on this issue.
 
No prob with EAD. I haven't tried opening a company, but I've seen many such questions on this forum, all got this same answer.
 
no issues, i did the same thing. as long as you keep the job that's sponsoring your GC, you're daisy.

the only thing is you can only incorporate one particular type of corporation. I forgot which one, the one that's taxed twice because you're not a PR yet. check with websites dealing with corporate laws for non immigrants vs. citizens.

eputydawg: Can you post a URL of a web site that has the information about what type of company can i open. I will check it some web sites too, but you might know of a good one that i should rely on.
