Hi everyone. I'm married to a USC and I recently got my work permit and SSN. My husband is currently deployed and I'm trying to open a joint account with him while he's away. However, all the banks I've asked wont let me do that without him being there physically. Anyone know of a bank which will let me add my husband with him being away? I have all his info like his SSN and his DL number. How do I go about this? I'm afraid to wait much longer because I think they'll be sending our interview letter soon. My husband is not back until November. Someone help me please.

Thank you.

Washington Mutual will let you open the joint account online, but you'll need his signature on the master account agreement when they mail it to you, for confirmation.

Hope this helps

I've tried to open an account online but it keeps saying my SSN doesnt exist. I received my SSN on Tuesday. I dont know what the problem might be. Anyone else been through this? Once you got your SSN, you tried to do things with it but the number couldn't be recognized? Please assist if you can.

IF you he is in the military then USAA.com

Tresun,

www.usaa.com (for current, and retired military)

There service is very good - they cater only to service men, women and their families. You will need to know his military information though. Everything else is done online - checking, savings, insurance etc
