75% cut in IIOs until October 1st
http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?threadid=94335

"The supervisors at the BCIS Nebraska Service Center have acknowledged that the processing date of
employment-based I-485 has not moved much since early 2003. The Center indicated that it has taken a 75% cut
in officers assigned to this product line. The Center currently only has five officers working on this product line.
The Center stated that it anticipates that it will return to pre-cut levels of production by October 1st and that it's
planning to augment the staff on the product line by three officers at that time bringing the total number of
officers on that product line to 19. However, these officers will also have to focus on asylee and religious worker
adjustment of status applications. The Center did indicate that if the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) initiates its
PERM program wihch then increases the number of Form I-140 filings, the Center may have to transfer some of the
officers from the Form I-485 product line to the Form I-140 product line to keep processing times relatively
current".

So VSC must be doing same thing right now.
1 officer work on backlog Oct/Nov, 1 on Dec, 3 officers work on Jan/Feb.

Normally, we know in a month, VSC can process 6000
485 applications, 6000/20 = 300 cases per officer per month. 300/20 days = 15 cases per day
= 2 cases per hour = 30 minutes per case.

Yeah, actually this number do make sense.

So right now only 5 officers work on 485 cases, that means 75 cases per day, 1500 cases per month.

1 officer work on Oct/Nov cases - 15 cases per day
1 officer work on Dec cases - 15 cases per day
3 officer work on Jan/Feb cases - 45 cases per day

What makes you assume VSC has the same number of folks dealing with a particular type of case as NSC?

I think the number of officers are probably very similiar at each center. Otherwise it's unfair.

TSC has 380 officers, you can do the math and figure out 20 officers is reasonable.

NSC has 20 officers.

So VSC probably has around 20 officers work on 485 cases too.

How many officers does it take to approve a I-485 ?

Answer : 20, one to do the paperwork and 19 to train the stupid parrot to sing the BCIS song :

One efficiency apartment in D.C. $800
One phone line $60
One dumb parrot $50
Pretending to improve things in BCIS : Priceless

..... For everything else there is GREENCARD

Hi dengdeng, Do you mean 485 cases filed in oct/Nov/Dec 2002 ?

Hey waytoolong
Listen, what inspired you to choose waytoolong as your user name?
It has 3 'O's or call it 3 zeros' in it. Change it to way2long and see you will be approved in next 2 weeks.
If you do not get approved by 28th Aug 2003, I owe you 3 drinks.

you called in dead to surf the net whole day ? Why not do it from the office like the rest of us hard working folks ?

Seriously though, I am so disillusioned with this thing that I am fully expecting to pack my bags.

Instead of the 3 drinks would you mind helping me pack ? :D :D :D :D

I swear I will strangle the stupid parrot before I go :D :D :D :D

waytoolong
first of all, I am at work.
Secondly please post the link where you got this info that you are going to pack your bag.
Do not spread rumors.:D :D :D

what's wrong with multiple posts.

The first post I copied from other board, the spacing is messed up, I have to post it first to see what's going on

The second post is following of first post.

The I do something else, and come back to post number 3.

Then real canadian ask a question

I answered

I then took look at my collected data, and continue posting

the others ask questions.

A long post sometimes is hard to read

And my posts are very spontaneous, if I think of something, I post, doesn't mean I post them separately exactly same time. Each post takes me seconds to finish.

Okay, merge some posts into one, but what's wrong with it?
different posts make things more clear, same as paragraph in an article. A big post is hard to read, IMO.

it seems to me you know everything

I am really impressed with your "insights" into EVERY aspects concerned with GC and BCIS, which is like your backyard. You now even count there are XX officials in VSC working on 485.

I do hope again this is your speculation.

This speculation has some kind of basis.

But one thing is true, each center cut 75% officers to work on religious worker cases.

Cole, I always want to know how many officers work on 485 cases. I always thought 200. I'm no naive. 200 out of 380 employee? That's impossible. 20-50 is more reasonable.

guys - is today "Gang up on Dengdeng" day ? Did I miss some kind of memo ? If you all don't fighting I will make you pack my bags when BCIS shows me the door. Also you are not invited to the "strangle the stupid BCIS parrot" party.

This person has been constantly criticizing me in various threads.
I never said I am a moderator. Couple of weeks ago, I curiously posted a thread asking what is eligible to be moderator about,
what's wrong with that? I don't want to be a moderator, and I'm not interested in it. But jealous ppl started to criticizing me for
my posts yet have to read every post of mine. And why should
I in every thread remind others I'm not a moderator even though I posted over 1000 messages? I'm answering other ppl's questions not clarifying who I am. GC050102's posts hurted my feelings. If you want to be moderator, talk to Rajiv. I'm never interested in becoming moderator and will not be. And I post because others ask me questions. And I want to share information with others. If you don't like my posts, just put me on your ignore lists, just as what I did to GC050102.

To assume that each center has the same number of officers in a given area is inaccurate. Note that each center has a different number of people assigned to EB cases, and within that department the numbers of individuals will be different.

As well, certain cases are handled exclusively by a single Service Center, no matter where in the US they are from. All TN-1 and TN-2 renewals are handled by NSC, so they may receive more I-129s than other service centers.

Well, it's just my speculation based on data, VSC could have more workers on 485 cases. but I read somewhere particularly said VSC
has tons of TPS cases, and that affects its processing time. Even if VSC has more officers, I don't think it is over 50, that's too luxury. Each center have similiar number of total employees, and VSC won't assign everybody to 485 cases(50/400 is 1/8 a lot).

Based on each day only 20 Dec cases get processed, it seems to me only one officer is working on Dec cases, or totally 8 officer hour is spent on Dec cases. Same for Nov cases.

Again, it's my speculation.
