Only Dependent receives an Approval email for 485

Dependent got the following email from CHRIS ...
"On February 17, 2006, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued"

Nothing for the Primary Applicant….and we both finished our Code 3 biometrics on Feb, 14th. I was wondering how they can approve a dependent application before the primary application. Saw a similar case for 'Banglababu'. Maybe a new trend to confuse people :)

Any thoughts?

No need to worry. Sometimes this happens. You'll get your approval notice soon also.
It's a mistery why sometimes USCIS send some emails first than others. You might not get an email but, you should get your approval in the mail soon. In order for your dependant to be approved, primary applicant (in this case, you) must be approved first. Little patience, and, congratulations!
Keep us posted!

Called USCIS Today...

My wife called USICS Today. We too got the same email from CRIS upon doing our 3rd FingerPrinting (Bio). It looks like USICS Customer Rep is as much confused as we all are. On asking about the Email, she said, Approval Document means CARD and if my wife doesn't receive the CARD by mail in 30 days, she should call the same Customer Rep as she gave her name and Extension Nbr. And, these all is happening for my Wife's 485 and she is dependent on me. So, we should be calling again on 30th day !!!!...keep tuned..

Guys,

This messages does NOT always mean approval. This message can be triggered if you moved recently. I received this message in the past and all I got was an explanation for my status inquiry (that was sent to the old address). I don't think Customer reps have a clue as to what triggered this message and they just follow protocols.

I would not hold my breath.

I got similar message and called USCIS. They give me same explaination as I moved this mail was to confirm address change.

Not an approval notice

Guys and Gals,

This is defenitely not an approval notice. pstalsania and gcwagon are right. This generic message is generated in several scenarios. The first is an address change and the second is an FP notice. The customer reps are useless and their goal is to get you of the phone as quickly as they can.

I have never known this message to indicate an approval.

In my case - The email from CRIS was on 2/16. We did our Bio on 2/14 and Notice date for Bio was 1/29. We offcourse, we didn't move. So, what the term Approval refers here !! Green Card..Uh...I will take that (kidding)...Duh!..these USCIS Cust Reps....

Maybe indicates receipt of Bio

BanglaBabu,

I think the email was triggered upon the receipt of your Bio information by the USCIS. That would be my best guess at this point.

Yep, they had to approve my Bio Information. Wondering, why did it not trigger email for me and 2 KIds...

Here's my story. My husband got similar message last year but never received any approval. The reason was since I am the primary applicant and my case is stuck in Name Check, they never sent him any approval notice although he was approved. USCIS will hold his approval until I get mine. :( . I

Dependent cannot be approved without primary ..

EB1UB,

Sorry to hear about that. It is a fact that dependents cannot get approved without the approval of the primary applicant. Although I am not sure, I am pretty certain that my wifes application has not been approved eben after 8 months of replying to the RFE because my case was pending. Whether my case was misplaced or whether I am stuck in some sort of security check is a mystery. My case cannot be classified into any category because of the mistakes that USCIS has made with it.

Banglababu, do not worry to much about this notice for now. Follow the PD movement and keep an eye out for any notices or LUD changes.

Interesting thoughts from everyone...

Guys,

Even I agree with Saras that since primary never got approved this may not be an approval. We will soon know when I receive that letter. Will keep you guys posted. :)
