online status message change: Whats happening?!

Did anyone check ur online status today?
The text following I485 has changed from Application to adjust to permanent residence status to this new text. What does this mean?
Has the INS updated its system with the new security upgrades?

Yr guesses welcome

I Didn't notice that in the morning when I check it, But after your message I did re-check and you are correct, it has been changed. I don't know what they meen by 'register to permanent residence' in their message.

I got a RFE and my attorney is going to reply today. I am not sure it has anythig to do with RFE or not.

Hi,

My guess is that INS might've started using this form I485 for more than one purpose. Earlier it was only for Adjustment of Status, now with special registration process underway they might've started using it for Registration of residence also.

Just a guess, don't hold me for this.

INS has bought a new answering machine at christmas sale, and they are testing that with this new message :D

I guess for asylee they register as permanent resident after their asylum is granted for employment based we merely adjust our status from non-immigrant to immigrant. someone ( obviously jobless) might have pointed out that the earlier one doesn't reflect this. :)
