Online Message Puzzle

I am completely puzzled by online messages for my case.

The message was changed from “… fingerprint result was received…” to “On May 22, 2003, the document we made based on the approval or registration … was mailed…” . My AP and EAD were approved in April and March, but case statuses for AP and EAD were also changed from “ … was approved…” to the exact same message as for I-485!

Until now May 30, I did not receive any thing from TSC. From this forum, I guessed for I-485 the message means that third FP notice is on the way, but what does it means for AP and EAD?

I asked my paralegal, and she said it means approval for I-485. But I hardly believed that so I called TSC and after 1h dialing got IIO that did not know what is it all about. He guessed that it was about changing address (?) for I-485 app. but could not even guess what did they sent for my AP and EAD, since I already got AP and EAD.

Please respond if you have any idea what is it all about.

Have you changed addresses after filing 485?

Usually the "document mailed directly..." message means FP Notice mailed, but I have also heard it could be an RFE.

My first FP notice came to me with mispelling in the address (E enstead of A). I called TSC to correct that.

Last time when I called TSC asking about obscure online message, the IIO did spell my address correctly, also he said that it was not a RFE. He guessed it was a FP notice, but could not explain why they needed to send third FP notice , while result of my first FP was ok in their database ? then he was talking about address changing...(sounded like he does not know the procedure )

Do you have the same problem with online message for AP and EAD ? my were changed from '... approved ..' to ' document ... mailed...'

Almost 10 days passed and still I did not receive any thing

Question to Tin

Hi Tin,

My EAD card was approved in the last week of March. Still I haven't received it . The online message changed from" approved.." to "mailed..." on 13th May. Called IIO , she said that card is in production, they mailed only the approval notice. Anyway did not receive neither of them.

Did you receive your EAD card? From your reply I got the impression that you are also waiting for your EAD card. Am I right? If you got your card, Could you please post when did they mail it to you and when did you receive it?

Hi 485_xx,

I got my second EAD card in March. the card is valid from February 20. So you could say that I got a card one month after approval.
The online message was changed when they mailed the card only not when it was approved. So the online message was " ...approved..." all the time from March 10 until May 22. The EAD card came to me 5-6 days after they mailed it.

I also got my AP at begining of May. By the time I got it AP was valid for only 11 months. (a month passed since the approval day to the day I got it).

I got 2 AED cards and non of them had 'approval notice' and it took less then a month to make a card.
From your experience with IIO and my exprerience, I do not know how much we can trust IIO.
