Online Case Status Change

Hi all,

Today, just for grins I went into the USCIS website to see if I could add my case to my profile - much to surprise IT WORKED! And the date that it showed as last updated is today! However when I click on the case, is says that the status for this receipt number cannot be found. This is a step further than I have got before - where it would say the case number does not exist.

Does this mean that they looked at my case today and it will update tonight - my next step is interview! Or does it mean that the USCIS changed their website so that we can add cases to our portfolio and then when we click on it, get the same message of no status can be found?
 
I checked my case status again this morning and it shows that it was updated AGAIN today - yet it still gives the message of "status for this receipt number is not available".

Would this indicate that they are working on my file at this time?

Well even though I have my interview date - online status still shows nothing, and every day that I check it ... thats the last day it shows as updated. Today it showed that it was last updated on 3/3/2005.

same thing here. yesterday was the first time my case appeared on online and it said it was updated and i checked today it says it is updated today. what does this mean.

Me too.

I had created a login profile about a month ago and from time to time have tried to "add" my receipt number to my portfolio -- with no success. Yesterday was the first time I was able to do this, and it reported my case as being updated today too. Hopefully this signals my interview will soon be scheduled, going from some of the other experiences reported here...

By the way, I still only get the same old "The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system" message when I try to enter my receipt number into the individual case status search page.

Mailed N-400 on Feb. 5, 2005
Rec'd at NSC on Feb. 8, 2005 (from tracking report)
Check cleared on Feb. 11th, 2005
Received Receipt Notice on Feb. 22, 2005
PD: Feb. 8, 2005
Received Fingerprint Notification: Feb. 28, 2005
Fingerprint appointment: March 17, 2005

My interview notice showed up in my mailbox on the 2nd day after I could enter my case number into my portfolio. Looks like you may be getting your interview notice soon!

case status in portfolio

I was previously unable to add my case to the portfolio but tried again today after reading these messages and it works. However, if I click on the case number it is unable to find any record of it.
The last update date shown is a couple days off from my interview notice date.
 
Got my interview letter today

Sure enough, I received my appointment letter today! Ability to add your case # to the portfolio seems to signal your appointment has been scheduled.

My update:

Rec'd at NSC on Feb. 8, 2005 (from tracking report)
Check cleared on Feb. 11th, 2005
Received Receipt Notice on Feb. 22, 2005
PD: Feb. 8, 2005

Fingerprint appointment: March 17, 2005
Received Interview notification: March 29, 2005 (notice date March 24, 2005)
Interview appointment: June 22, 2005

Just wish my appointment was sooner than this!

CanTex, your case seems very quick. from the day you mailed out n400 till you received the interview notification which it is less than 2 months.

My PD is on 3/9 and I received my fingerprint notification 4/14 (not bad.. around 1 month + few days) and scheduled on 4/27. I just hope i can receive the interview notification within few months.

Thats really wonderful news that you have your interview scheduled. I started with NSC earlier (PD: 1/11), had fp before you (3/1) but I am still waiting for Interview letter... Online status does not reflect status based on Receipt number. Just curious what is your DO.

Thanks! Yes, things moved quickly up until now, so much so that the 2.5 month wait for the interview now seems a long time! My DO is Detroit.

Are you checking status using a login portfolio? Seeing my case finally appear there is what corresponded to the date my interview letter was issued.

Any update after interview?

Has anyone seen their last accessed date being updated once the interview is completed? I had my interview last week - still no change in case status online :(
