Hi All
I just filed application for AP online and want to know what other supporting documents need to be sent. Will i be asked to go for finger printing and my picture taken there or should i provide with 2 pictures along with the supporting documents.
Also I applied for multiple entry AP as I intend to visit my brother in Australia and my parents back in India. Its been 3 yrs now since I met them, thanks to background checks. But i am not sure of the dates of travel, so what should I write in reason for travel (visiting family)? I entered on F1 (student visa), which expires this May. Are there any issues regarding travelling on expired visa even if it not relevent now as my I485 is pending and I have EAD card.
I thank you all in advance for helping me out.

1- Don't say in your letter these annoying sentences like "thanks to background checks" or similar and remember, they are (supposed) not doing these checks to harm you but to benefit you and keep you and me safe.
2- If you travel on expired or even valid F visa, this mean I485 denial. You have to have AP before your travel.
3- Even if you did not mention any reason for your travel and just checked it in the application, mostly you will get it approved, they don't care and even if you have GC and they don't want to re-admit you, they will do.

mmed thanks for ur reply.
1. I know the purpose of background checks, but the frustration is that someone with same profile as me got approved withing 3 months while I am still hanging on for 3 yrs now.
2.I was asking that if I travel on expired F1 visa USING AP, will there be still any issues?
3. Do I need to sent any other document by mail? I485 receipt notice etc, like I sent for renewing my EAD.

2- No problem, you should use the AP without issue.
3- Yes, you need to send all supporting documents, I-485, I94, I-140, Passport information pages, 2 photos, EAD ....etc. All are not required, but you will be in safe side because if they request any thing, the clock will stop and restart again.

Just like I-765 online application guide is a sticky, can this be a sticky?

I am concurrently filing EAD and AP and was glad to see a guide for EAD. If there is a good guide for AP, it will really help. If people have comments, they can add to this thread.

Do I really need to send photograps for online AP application?

Do I really need to send photograps for online AP application?

Yes, you do.

1. 2 photos
2. copy of I-140 (not really required, but they can ask you)
3. copy of passport (page with photo and name)
4. copy of I-485
5. copy of I-94 (both sides)
6. title page from online application.

AP application for spouse from same account

Sorry for the dumb questions but.....

Can I prepare both AP application for me and my wife from the same BCIS online account (which has been created with my details). I know it does let me create multiple applications but just want to make sure.

Secondly, I saw the list of supporting documents to submit in the thread above. Do I just do it as soon as i have a confirmation number online and print out the application or do I wait for a letter or something to come from the USCIS asking me for supporting documents.

Third, supporting documents have to be sent regardless of whether they call you in person to a support center or their is a choice. Send supporting document or go to an ASC?

You can use the same account.

Send the supporting docs with a copy of the confirmation notice. Dont wait for any letter from USCIS. The 'letter' will be an RFE, which is best avoided.

Docs needed:
1. 2 Pics and Letter stating why you want a I-131 for multiple entry.
2. This is all optional extra:
a) Copy of I485
b) Copy of I-94
c) Color Copies of Passport biographic pages
d)Copy of old approved I-131 if any

I have seen people get approval by just sending 2 pics with the confirmation page and a copy of I-485.

Others send their family history and still get a RFE.

no rhyme or reason here...

Thank you Airberd

Some people talk about going to ASC with supporting docs.. What is that for?

Thanks again for the info

and one more question

There are 2 ways to add applications for family/spouse online for I-131.. Which one to use? The 2 options I see are

1. One is complete your application and then 'Add I-131' which gets added 'underneath' your main application. In this case the fee is added up..

2. The other option is to go all the way back to the Home page and select the 'Start a New Form' option after selecting I-131. And then 2 forms appear in the From Checklist - one for self, one for spouse.. And certify and fees are to be handled individually..

Please suggest the correct method? I am thinking it is number 1?
