One Scenario After I140

Here's a scenario. You have already passed 6 years, 8th year extension coming up. Say after you get your I140 approved, you get a 3 year extension. Can you switch companies because you know, an h1 is an h1 is an h1. OR is is that POS now somewhat related to your LORD AND MASTER company that actually applied the I140. I am kinda getting f#$%&d at my present position, and might have to jump ship to keep my sanity. Please let me know what you think, if you already did something like this, please share your experience

Hi:

I am in the same situation...six year visa expiring with the current employer and don't think I can stay another year, or two with the same employer until my processing date becomes current.

Spoke to lawyer -- in case you decide to jump ship, make sure you leave on good terms as the I485 process still requires your employer's approval to petition for you.

As long as you take care of that, I see no reason why you can't switch employer.
