I guess taking a letter from both of your employers, one stating that (either you or your spouse) work in state X and live in state X, and second indicating that (either you or your spouse) live in state X but work in state Y and travel weekly or biweekly to state X would be a good idea. This will establish the address in one of the states as permanant and other one as temporary.
You can also submit income tax returns filed from the permanant address as proof of residency, this will also establish the other address as the temporary address.
