One more affidavit, I-94 with officer, travel plans???

Sometimes they send an RFE without updating the status. And it might still be awaiting supervisor review before they decide whether to send an RFE or approve the case. It's common for supervisor review to take a couple of months.

OMG.. Will it take a couple of months for supervisor review? The way the IO talked sounded as if she'll be sending it by week end. I think I should start looking at CP option then...

That might happen if you're lucky. But once it's in the hands of the supervisor, the IO who spoke to you doesn't control how fast it gets done so they could speak in the interview as if it's going to happen tomorrow but in reality it stretches out for a few weeks or months.

Rather than leaving without AP and switching to CP, he should try for Emergency Advance Parole. See http://www.uscis.gov/emergencytravel and scroll down to the section "Criteria for Expedited Processing of an Application".

I guess the case is in a bigger black hole now. If I get the additional affidavit, will it be possible for me to send it even if I do not receive any communication from the officer/USCIS? Will an infopass appointment work? Right now, the case has exceeded the normal processing window.

I think you should wait, or get emergency AP as the othe poster advised, it is always good to collect all the required documents, I think you shouls not send any documents till they ask you for, as the IO advised you wait for the 89 days from the day of the interview.

I dont think you should send any documents unless USCIS asks you to send. Collect the documents and hang on to them, so that in case they ask you, you have them ready.
