One month's leave for wrap-up and going back to home country

My project got finished on Dec 31st 2008. My employer kept trying to get a project for me till March 2009. He paid my salary for this period. On April 1st he told me to go back to my home country. I told him that I will need 1 month to wrap-up and I will depart at the end of April. I will be giving 1 month's leave letter to my employer. Will this be ok as far as USCIS rules are concerned?
