My wife & Kid are in India. I have to send their approved AP to them. To be on safe side i want to send one copy of AP instead of 2. At port of entry
how many copies they ask for AP???
Pls reply..thanks

They ask for one copy only but better to send all, may be by separate posts to be on safe side, if you wish so. The reason is that sometimes airlines keep one copy as transporter's copy while leaving the country (India) for their records - mostly the one without picture. Not all airlines do this and mostly they see the AP and then return back to the passenger.

Best wishes,

Jigesh

Thanks..Jigesh...but now a days INS sends two copies. Both with original photos

My question is ..in case if we lost one....will it cause a serious problem???

I see. Thanks for the info that INS now sends two copies - both with pictures. Interesting.

If one copy is lost, you might need to re-apply for AP after returning to the US before one again needs to go outside the US while I-485 is still pending. At the port of entry (US airport), they need only one copy - at least that's what they asked me and my family when we re-entered. We all then had 3 APs - 2 with pictures and seals and one without picture.

Question about AP..

Do i still need to fill I-94 form (even if i have AP) on entering this country?

No, you need both to enter. I too got two copies with photos on them.

I just came back in Dec from India. At PoE they will keep one copy and stamp the other and give it to you. Should you need to travel again then you just show the copy you got during your first visit and they restamp it.

CARRY BOTH WITH YOU.

For the same reason DO NOT give any copy to airlines under any circumstances. You can tell them to make a photo copy if they need it for their records.

Thanks,
BR
