once asked for the Affidavit of Support in the embassy, is obligatory to present it?

at the USA embassy in Caracas the consul verbally, asked me:
affidavit of support 32,000 usd for 5 people or 100,000 usd, or labor supply.

but the consul in form only asked me for an affidavit of support support 32,000 usd for 5 people.

I can go with more money, or with a supply of work? once asked for the Affidavit of Support in the embassy, is obligatory to present it?
 
If the Consulate asked for it, you will be obligated to present it. There is no way around it. It will be the Consulate decision to approve or reject your visa.
