On TN - pending change of status (I-485)

Hi,

I am currently on my second TN-1 witch I renewed by mail last December. Two weeks ago I applied for change of status I-485. I am canadian citizen. My question is:

I need to visit Toronto for a week next month, would be there any issues coming back, if I go, while I have a pending I-485?

DO NOT GO!!
Until you have AP, leaving US is considered abandonning your I-485. You would need to re-file it, and may as a result not be allowed to enter

Worse yet, even if you were allowed to enter, it would NOT be in TN, since you cannot be admitted in TN after demonstrating such clear immigrant intent.

As I'm sure you were aware, once you applied for I-485/I-131/I765, so have to sit tight in US until you get AP/EAD to both preserve your permission to enter US and to work!!
 
Thanks Nelsona. I won't go then anywhere. I was reading that the AP may take up to 3 months so in anycases I woudn't be able to travel next month anyways.
